About Kirikonkea

Kirikonkea (“Mountain and water”): this group is dedicated to Cambodian studies–critical interdisciplinary studies looking at Cambodia through the lenses, in particular, of anthropology, religious studies, and political ecology. Some interests are: ritual, Buddhist art, Cambodian monasticism, meditation traditions, Khmer Krom Buddhism, Cambodian monks in other countries, new religious movements, village social organization, land tenure, irrigation systems, the Tonle Sap floodplain, the politics of the Mekong, ethnicity, gender.
